J Class yachts

The Americas Cup in years gone by spawned some incredible yachts. One of those were the J boats. These were the largest ever of the Americas Cup challenges. With a length on deck of 120-130 feet they were large and fast! Here are some photos of the J Class yachts Ranger and Velsheda.

More impressive is the height of the masts, a full 16 stories tall!

To handle all this hugeness required a crew of around 30.

These photographs were taken at the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta in May.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
